Welcome to the board Paul. You'll find quite a few of the people on this board (myself included) were into Soho Roses. I have the lp and the 2 12" that were released.

Andy I was also at that gig you mentioned. I also saw the band whenever I was down in London and they were playing.

Well, I'll be dipped in shit and called a popsicle!!! You know, your band has been on numerous "Top 50" lists here, and I do believe on mine you were at 10, only beaten by:

1. Hanoi Rocks - Back To Mystery City
2. T-Rex - The Slider
3. Hanoi Rocks - Two Steps From The Move
4. Last Of The Teenage Idols ? Satellite Head Gone Soft
5. Star Star - The Love Drag Years
6. Hanoi Rocks - Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks
7. Hanoi Rocks - Self Destruction Blues
8. Hanoi Rocks - Oriental Beat
9. Dogs D'Amour - In The Dynamite Jet Saloon
10. Soho Roses - Third And Final Insult

And those Top 10's to me are all really the ones I wanted at number 1! Your album was vitually perfection.

Now then, to stop the asskissing, I am wondering if you would be willing to talk? Ah, see, I am working on a project. If you have any interest in what it is, drop me a message. It is the reason Rocky and I were talking, plus he is just a super cool guy.

One question, to clear up some controversy I ran into: How many tunes did Scarlett Tears record? I have some songs, but was told by a guy who said he was friends with you guys that you actually recorded quite a few more songs and that he had them. His name was Simon and was supposedly the guy you thank on the back of one of the 12" singles.

Welcome to the site, and don't be afraid of us, we might ask you a ton of questions at first because of your past, but eventually you will be treated like any other poster, but at the same time some of us will be giddy to just have you here! LOL!!!

Now, what is "Shockwave" (do you mean the computer program?)?

Where the fuck is Andii? He's going to kill himself over this if he doesn't get here!!!

Thanks for remembering us! Not a bad Top Ten, Carl. I take it you're a bit of a Hanoi fan. As for your project, I'd be happy to provide any info you need. Please say 'Hi' to Rocky too - I haven't seen him in ages.

I can't believe that you remember Scarlet Tears! Does anyone still listen to that stuff?! Well, we only recorded a couple of demos - seven tracks in all. We would've recorded more but I got the sack...

If it's the same Simon namechecked on the sleeves please say 'Hi' from me if you bump into him again. He was the very first person I saw with our logo sprayed on his jacket. To me that was the ultimate compliment. When there are so many great bands to choose from and someone decides to spray your relatively unknown band's name on their jacket...well, it's something special - especially when they turn out to be a really nice guy who's knowledgeable about music.

Oh, and 'Shockwaves' was THE hairspray of choice by all backcombers of the day: sticky as f@*k and with a strange lemony aroma that was quite addictive. Unfortunately they changed the scent during the late eighties, probably due to too many people like me sniffing the stuff.

Well Simon stopped replying to me. If this was one in the same, the guy I was in contact with also was VERY knowledgable on the "scene" from those days. Referred to Dave Tregunna as "Kermit" all the time and said it was his nickname, which was odd as I had never heard that name before. His emails to me boardered on the insulting, always referring to me as "Glamboy" and stuff of the sort, but seemingly in a nice "nudge nudge" type of thing. He was also supposedly planning on re-releasing the Soho stuff someday, but was lacking the approval of one of you guys, as he couldn't find him. Not sure who it could have been though. I bought the Marionette album off of him on eBay. Through him is also how I met/found/emailed Buttz from The Babysitters/LOTTI. Long story, but I was in touch with him for quite awhile and got a brilliant interview done with him, all the brilliance came from his input, not mine.

I like the Scarlet Tears stuff quite a bit, and I know Andii (who has yet to show up here as of late) is a pretty big fan. I got the stuff from him.

If you can, send me a PM or IM by clicking on the tab up above this post, its the people holding hands with the envelope, and drop me your email address. I won't overstep the "boundaries" and as soon as you wish to be done with the whole process, just let me know. Sounds painful, but drop me a line and I will explain to you what I am doing.

Yeah, I like Hanoi, but not impressed with the new thing called "Hanoi Rocks". Not enough Andy input for my tastes. But my main thing with them is that most "Glam" bands only release a truely great album or two, whereas Hanoi knew what they were in the beginning and stuck to it. They never got overly "artsy" and always played pure RnR.

Look forward to hearing from ya! Again, welcome on board! Thanks for the info, by the way.

According to the man himself, Rocky, these are just rumours. But who knows, maybe a ton of interest will spark the desire out of everybody. Only time will tell, so we sit and wait patiently for a Wrathchild runion, along with one for every other classic band that we may have missed, or we may wish to see again.

I've never heard of DT being referred to as 'Kermit'. Hopefully it was a form of endearment or possibly a reference to the kind of women he attracted?! I haven't seen Buttz in yonks either. Having played a few dates together waaay back I can assure you that no one was short of entertainment with him around!

I agree that the new 'Hanoi' stuff sounds a bit too much like a Monroe solo effort. The best bits are where McCoy is involved and hopefully he'll have more input on the next one. I caught them live a few months back and, although it was a good nostalgia trip, McCoy was limping and therefore not very mobile. I also find it hard to accept them using the name without Yaffa and Nasty. Consequently I didn't bother seeing them on the recent tour and, by all accounts, I missed out badly. Everyone I've spoken to has been raving about how good they were. Apparently McCoy was back on form and going totally apeshit - duckwalks and everything!
<font size="3" face="Arial">Well, the "Kermit" name was because he said he looked like a frog. You decide if it was loving. He said it was though, but I am not too sure.

And when I get in touch with you, I will send along a copy of the Buttz interview, and you will see that the man has lost none of his charm. I was in doubt as to if it was the real Buttz, but then Rocky read the interview and said that nobody but Buttz would come up with the stuff in the interview. There is some pretty funny stuff in there.

Scarlet Tears -i used to have some demos by them. Went missing ( got nicked) from my collection. Good music from whst i remember. As Carl said Paul there are some fans of your stuff here. I did see a soho roses anthology cd on ebay the other week. Made me drag out the soho roses stuff for a listen.
